PhotoCraft for MacFree macOS download · one universal app for Apple silicon and Intel
PhotoCraft for macOS is a single universal app that runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs and draws the canvas with Metal. It opens and saves layered PSD files, and the DMG is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it installs like any other Mac app.

Install guide
How to install PhotoCraft on Mac
Install the app from the DMG
- Download the DMG. Use the button above. There is one file for every Mac, so you do not need to know your chip.
- Drag to Applications. Open the DMG and drag PhotoCraft onto the Applications folder, then eject the disk image.
- Open it the first time. Start PhotoCraft from Applications or Launchpad. Because the app is notarized, macOS only asks you to confirm that it was downloaded from the internet.
Install the command-line tool (optional)
- Unpack the CLI. The CLI is a separate universal zip. Unpack it with ditto so the signature is kept:
ditto -x -k photocraft-cli-0.17.0-macos-universal.zip .
- Confirm the notarization. A bare binary cannot carry a stapled ticket, so macOS checks it online on first run. You can run the same check yourself:
spctl --assess --type install -vv photocraft-cli-0.17.0-macos-universal/photocraft-cli
Keep it current
Update, uninstall and verify
shasum -a 256 photocraft-0.17.0-macos-universal.dmg
FAQ
PhotoCraft for Mac FAQ
Does PhotoCraft run natively on Apple silicon?
Yes. The DMG is a universal app with native code for Apple silicon and Intel, so it does not need Rosetta on an M-series Mac.
Which macOS version does PhotoCraft need?
macOS 11 Big Sur or later. The app declares 11.0 as its minimum system version.
Why does macOS ask before opening PhotoCraft?
macOS asks once for every app downloaded from the internet. PhotoCraft is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so after you confirm, it opens normally.
Is PhotoCraft for Mac free?
Yes. PhotoCraft is open source under MIT or Apache-2.0, and the DMG on the official GitHub release is free.
